Sweet little Julietta!

God has been working in Julietta lately and it's so neat to see! She has just started to come to grasp and understand some things, and she has also started to ask a lot of tough questions. Now is one of those many times that I wish dad were alive! I know he must be very happy to see his little princess starting to grow in Christ but I wish he were here to talk to her!
Anyway, when we were talking about Easter I was trying to explain that Jesus died for us and then on Easter he became alive again, and that is why we celebrate because Jesus is alive! Well, I think with a lot of kids the talk would end there. However, Julietta thought for a moment and goes does that mean that Papa is alive now too? Very hard to explain the concept of alive but not here to a 3 year old while also explaining that Jesus literally became alive on this earth again and that is why we celebrate!
Yesterday she came downstairs so excited and just said Guess what mom! "God painted our blood red and then he put it inside of us, then God put our skin on and he painted it tan. Then God put our hair on and he painted mine blonde, and then my tiny eye black, and then the other eye he painted brown with green. Then he painted my lips pink and my fingernails too! How cool is that?!" Seriously exactly like this!
Then yesterday afternoon she looks at me and said "Does God talk?" I said Yes he sure does. Then she said "But why can't I hear him!?" How do you answer that one!?
Anyway, I am loving watching this love of God and her learning happening. She is so sweet and has such a tender heart and spirit. We love her so much! I am praying that God uses her to do some big things for his kingdom!

Happy Easter

Happy Easter all! It was a wonderful Easter for the Mackey family this year for several reasons. First off it's always wonderful to reflect on Christ and the resurrection. Second off this is the first year that we've really had a church family to celebrate with. And finally our family was complete because Randy got home the day before! Julietta woke up to an Easter basket filled with Jelly Beans, Hershey's kisses and eggs, sour worms, and a princess wand, princess crown, and a tinker bell hippity hop!
Julietta got to wear a "real" princess dress to church and she loved that! Ender manses did not really know any different. We all woke up early, and got to hang out and drink some coffee and then we went to church and then really just hung out. We did not do anything real big since Randy had just got home. I actually did not even cook an Easter dinner. Randy wanted some Sonic so that is what we did (I got the grilled chicken sandwich and a diet cherry limeade).
Here are some pictures from Easter.
Ender manses!!!!!
Sweet Princess of ours!
Daddy surprised Julietta with the packet of the Disney Barbies!
Princess Julietta is SO happy to have her Prince back!
My sweet family is complete again!

7 months old!

Well Ender is 7 months old! I can't believe it. Time just keeps on passing. Ender is a hoot! He has gotten so much personality lately. He is "talking", he loves to say ba ba. He really like to make a lot of different noises. He loves to laugh at his big sister! He laughs no matter what is going on if she blows rasberries. He FINALLY rolled over! He will roll both ways. However, if you put him on his stomach he just goes right to his back, still does not like it! And in other big news he has a tooth!!!!! I was so suprised. Julietta didn't get her first until she was about 14 months old. Randy's mother said that her earliest was around 10 months, and I got mine at 10 months. I have read that it is hereditary so I was fully expecting another one year old with the gummy smile! NOPE! He got his bottom left one, and the bottom right is coming in now! Poor baby! Ender has also started sleeping completly through the night! I feed him around 8 and he goes right to bed and then he wakes up anywhere from 7-8. Thank the Lord that finally kicked in! He still does not take the best of naps but one thing at a time. On a sad news, we are in the process of weaning. He just does not get enough and he is never fully satisfied from a nursing so, I think it's about time to just got to the bottle completly. I am pretty sad about this because I wanted to make to a year so bad, but I am thankful that we'll get formula through WIC so at least it won't be an expensive switch. And on a fun note I'll be able to have pizza again! I am not sure of when I'll complete this process because a part of me is holding on to nursing but we shall see!
We are still trying to work on Ender sitting up. He won't sit by himself, he just throws himself back. However, he is super strong in the legs. I have a theory that he'll just go straight to standing and skip the whole sitting and scooting stage. But just a theory.
Here are a couple of pictures of this past month!

6 months

Well, as normal I am a couple weeks late. Ender is now 6 months! Can you believe it? I can not! It has gone by way to fast. Randy is still gone. He should be coming home in the next two weeks though, and we are more than ready! We miss the man of our house so much! Julietta talks about him all the time. It is so cute and sweet to see. This is the first time he's been gone a long time when she's been old enough to notice. So it is affecting her a lot.
Ender is still Ender! However, one very important thing has changed. He hit 6 months and voila, he has started to sleep through the night. Our routine is I feed him around 8 and he sleeps until 7:30-8 the next morning! Thank the Lord, that finally kicked in. While I was out in Denver he started to do a 4 hour schedule. I was loving that, however, now he's not. Since we've been home he has had a rather rough time napping. I am not quite sure what is going on there but I am hoping we get it sorted out. Still frustrating during the days because I can not get much done house wise, and we all know how much I want my house to be clean and how much Randy does too.
Also: Ender can roll over. He doesn't like to do it. However, if I get it started and put his hand up he will flip himself over. He wants to move. It's super cute I need to get a video of it but he does these hip thrusts! He's going to have buns of steel :) But, he'll move himself all around the carpet.
We have started solid foods. He eats cereal twice a day, has a veggie and fruit for lunch. He loves to feed himself out of the self-feeder. There's a video in the last post of that!
(Here's a pic of his first bite of Banana! He didn't really like it!)

I took him to WIC the other week and he hasn't gained that much however. So, I am supplementing some with formula. He loves to drink out of a bottle. I think he's in the process of weaning himself. He still loves to nurse right before he goes to bed and he'll nurse at every feeding but he doesn't like to do it for long enough to get enough food. So... I nurse him and he gets about 8-12 ounces of formula a day in a bottle. I am also making his cereal with formula to try to plump him up.
He is doing really well without all the diary too. So far, we haven't found anything else that he is allergic too. Thank God!

Other than that things are good here. I will post later on my trip to Denver, and then hopefully in a couple weeks I will post about Randy coming home!!!

Fun videos from Denver :)

So this is a video of Ender eating out of the self feeder. He downed an entire banana. He doesn't like the baby ones, but he LOVES this! The noise is hilarious :)

This is his first bite of baby bananas. He still makes that face :)

Here is a cute video of Julietta asking for more kiddos!

We had a WONDERFUL time out in Denver, I will post more about it, and more pictures a little bit later!
